Alana's First Tithing Settelment!

It is time for ***Tithing Settlement once again. This is a great opportunity that each member has to sit down with the bishop each year and discuss the blessings of paying tithing. This year Alana earned two dollars from a neighbor for "BEING CUTE". So, did what was right and paid 10% of her increase. She helped me fill out the slip and lick the envelope, then handed it to the Bishop. Today was Alana's first Tithing Settlement with Bishop Bryan Anderson. I really was not sure what to expect being that she was TWO YEARS OLD, But Bryan did such a wonderful job of explaining to her what happens with the money from the time it leaves her hand. She really seamed to understand what he was telling her. He asked her questions and she answered accordingly. I was one proud Momma! She sat in that chair in front of the Bishop's desk very still, and all by her self. Chris and I watched from apposing chairs. When it was all done, the Bishop told her how proud he was of her and...

It's official!

STS-120 Debriefing at Johnson Space Center

Image
STS-120 was a 6.25 million mile space shuttle mission to the International Space Station (ISS), that launched on October 27th 2007. It delivered the Harmony module and reconfigured a portion of the station in preparation for future assembly missions. STS-120 was flown by Space Shuttle Discovery and was the twenty-third space shuttle mission to the ISS. The completion of the mission leaves eleven flights remaining in the Space Shuttle program until its end in 2010, excluding two as-yet-unconfirmed Contingency Logistic Flights. (ALANA TAKING FAKE PICTURES OF THE ASTRONAUTS) Chris, Alana and myself had the opportunity to attend the debriefing for this mission. They handed out awards to the people who helped in fixing the solar panel rip and walked us through the day to day procedures. At the end we were able to see the Astronauts personal photos taken during their time in space. I felt very fortunate to be able to attend such a meeting. Not many people that aren't affiliated ...

Santa Come BBBaaaaacccckkkk!

Image
Sunday night our family was setting in the living room when all of a sudden we here sirens and see lights flashing our our window. I ran as fast as I could to see what was the matter. It was Santa Claus on a fire truck. I called Alana to come and see, but by the time her short legs got her to the door, Santa was down the street a few houses. She started screaming...."Santa...WAAAAaiiiitttt!"......."Santa... Come BBBaaaacccckkk" She could see hime from where we were standing but she wanted to see him up close. So we started running. We got closer but by time we caught up he was turning the corner and headed back to the North poll. Alana would not stop talking about Santa, so I thought she should call someone to tell them about it. So she called her Grandpa Olsen and talked his ear off. It was so cute.
