365 Day Challenge

Image
I'm not sure how many of you are aware of my year long project, but I wanted to tell you a little about it. 16 days ago I challenged myself to take a great photo a day for 365 days. The idea was to get my self into a habit of looking out side the frame of what is usual and normal to photo: our kids family and vacations. Photoing things that are in our everyday lives that we might take for grated. Yes, you will find the occasional photo of a family member or friend; but most commonly you will notice that I'm aiming my camera at the things around me. The whole scope of this idea will help me to become more creative in what "I'm Framing Up". Just in the first week I started to see things that I hadn't noticed before. Like morning dew on a leaf. I know that by the end of this project I may find my self really looking for things. Only time will tell. But for now; my mind is set on telling a story. One of what happens from day to day in my life. If it rained...

Some Memorial Day fun!

Here are some pictures of our activities on Memorial Day. We strated of the day with a pancake breakfast and playing ball at the park and ended our day with a great BBQ at a friends house. They rented one of those inflatable water slides. Alana wasn't to sure about it but she still went down a few times. There aren't any pictures of it but I did go down the slide in my clothes (Played for about two hours).Sorry it was after you left Amber! HAhaha! It was a blast! Oh yeah...And they had "MUD BUGS" too... Yuck! (if you're not from the South and don't know what a mud bug is...well its a craw fish)

My First Harvest?

Well. I'm not a farmer, but I'm proud of my first "HARVEST". A Cherry Tomato and a Jalapeño. Tonight they are to be made into a Grilled, Stuffed Jalapeño Shot...So to speak. (Picture to come.) I'm waiting on my first Bell Pepper and Steak Tomato. Soon I will be planting some other fun things, but I don't have much room at this point to do so.

My Monkey in the tree.

Image
We went to get the registration on the Saturn yesterday so we can sell it. There was this beautiful magnolia tree on the lawn, so I thought I would put Alana up in it and shoot away. Here are a few that I took of the little monkey in the tree. * ~

(The fallowing is a complaint I filed with the Dairy Queen Corporate offices just a half hour after my visit. I will post what they say in response) Went to the Kemah TX. DQ location at about 8:10 pm. and pulled into the drive through. I sat for 11 minutes before I got to the menu. I waited for another 3-4 minutes before she took my order. She keep asking me to repeat what I said. (I could see her walking back and forth from register to Ice cream dipping station.) Once she finally got my order, I sat for another 21 minutes before I got to the window. There She took my card and gave me a total of $35. I knew that there was no way that my meal cost that much. So I told her it wasn't right. She then realized that she had not charged the customer in front of me and then tried to fix it. By that point I had all But lost it.(still think I paid too much) The new total was for $26.13. Waiting again.(few more min.) After over thirty minutes in line, I FINALLY got my food. I asked her if...

Today we went to Hopkins Community Park in Dickinson, Texas Alana is going through a phase where she doesn't want her picture taken. So I don't get eye contact very much right now. Can you tell? Didn't think so. You would think she was shy! Look at the blue eyes Screaming at the ducks. What a doll!

(Made by Carina Olsen) I took a picture of an eagle at the Houston Zoo a while back. He stood so tall and proud! You look into his eyes and you think you could cry. (Airmen 1st Class Christopher De Mario ) I liken him to our military. They keep standing tall. There are so many men and women out there fighting for our freedom. Some of them are friends, Some family.... But most are strangers. When was the last time you saw a man in uniform and thanked him for serving this beautiful country? I can tell you that every time I see one I drop what I'm doing and shake their hands. I don't know if that is because My Brother Airman 1st Class Chris De Mario ~Air force~, Airmen Amanda Beall ~Air force~ (brother's Wife to be) and my cousin Brock De Mario ~Marines~ all are All doing their part. But I know that what the troops are doing over seas and state side is for the good of our country and for each and everyone of us! (Airmen 1st Class Christopher De Mario) So next time you pr...

My Car

Image
As many of you know, I was in a wreck in the Saturn with the girls. We were getting ready to trade it in for a new car at the time. Well having the wreck was a wake up call for me. This was the second time that a BIG TEXAS TRUCK clammed that they didn't see me because my car was little. Needless to say... I'm scared to death of driving a little car here anymore. So we opted for a larger vehicles that would hall all of us and company when they came, a trailer or lumber from Home depot... We went shopping with all the car reviews in hand and a plan of all the dealerships we wanted to visit as well as a few cars from the net. Everyone was trying to put us in a car... just not the ones we wanted. The girls were getting tired and I told Chris that if they didn't have anything at his last stop then I would like to go home. He had seen a car at a dealership downtown and that would be our last stop. I stayed in the car with the girls while Chris went to look at it. I could s...
