Epcot!

We had a lot of fun at Epcot this time around. They have really changed things since I came last in 2000. They have made it more appealing to kids because lets just face it... I it was boring and who wants to learn while on vacation. But now I love it and I know the girls enjoyed them selfs. We spent two days at Epcot. The first day and the fifth day.
I have so many fond memories of this fountain as a kid. Not to mention some fun photos. Check out the air Chris got!
This is one of many fun projects Epcot now does. It's called Kidcot and way fun. The kids get a badge with holes in it and they have to go to all the country's and find a Kidcot location. There they get a die cut that symbolized that location. They color the die cut and its then attached to their badge. There was another that they did that was a mask. Alana LOVE it. She showed her badge off to everyone .Something fun was riding Segways. I didn't do the training video because I was with the girls but according to the trainers I'm a natural. Yeah, I'm thinking about going into the pro circuit of Segway racing. LOL. Ariana got to meet Father Christmas in Canada. He was so sweet. I just with that the sun wasn't in her eyes. But she did really good. Alana on the other hand will... I guess you will see more of what happened when we get to Magic Kingdom. Yikes!"Oh Alana, I know you want every fairy at Disney World, But after watching the Tinkerbell movie for the Umpteenth time... I'm a little Tinkerbelled out!"

The girls and I sat by the fountain while waiting for Chris and Linda to ride Mission Space. It looked like fun but I don't do well on simulators.
Oh yes. I have a stiff for a husband. LOL!
China was very cool. There was a lady making candy art. It was amazing! Here is a seahorse she made.

I now wish I had bought that fez. You can see why.
Alana thought this was a house filled with candy. Poor girl. She knocked and tried her hardest to open that door. I later gave her some candy for her troubles.

So disappointed. :-(This is probably one of the only pictures of me. So enjoy!

Friday, March 23, 2012   I received a phone call from my oldest daughter Alana's Kindergarten teacher. Mrs Munos was concerned that Alana wasn't acting her bubbly self.  I had noticed that she seemed to have been sleeping a lot and wrote it off to the time change and just getting back from spring break. But now I had a little flag from her teacher.  I began to wonder if there was something wrong with her.  My first thought was depression.  So I sent her out on a Daddy Daughter date with my husband to see if it would boost her spirits. No such luck.  I've never heard of a child being so glum at the Kemah Boardwalk. But in fact, she hardly cracked a smile. Over the weekend Alana seemed to get worse.  She slept for a good part of church on my lap and I really began to worry.  Alana was eating like a teenage boy, drinking a ton of water and using the restroom several times an hour.  My husband, Chris, even thought she might have mono. ...

Hugs Jugs

We D-Mommas are always looking for low carb options for our kids.  While at Kroger yesterday, I felt compelled to check the carb counts on Little Hug Fruit Barrels.   I was very surprised to find that one Hug was only 2 grams of carbs and twenty count box is only $3! I was so excited that I bought two boxes.   When it came time to pick the girls up from school, the excitement was still flowing through my veins.  So I packed a few in my purse to give the girls in the car on the way home.   Results of the taste test were awesome.  Alana loves them.  Not to mention that they made her feel more like a normal kids.  Normal is great in my book.   I'm trilled that I no longer have to by different drinks for all the girls.  The price, taste and nutritional facts make Hugs a winner in our home.

All in the Family?

 This is one of the saddest posts I've had to write in some time... Two weeks ago I got a phone call from my brother in law, Brad.  He started the conversation with a little laugh and "I think your Alana has rubbed off on Reed" I was perplexed.  Oh no.  What did Alana do now?   "It looks like Reed is a type 1 diabetic too" I was floored.  I had just gone to Alana's school to give a talk on T1D, now we have another child in my husband's family who is insulin dependent. (My pancreas prop) Reed and Alana were born a year and two days apart. Reed had to go to the hospital in DKA on his tenth birthday.  It's the worst birthday present EVER!!! I felt hopeless and all I wanted to drop everything and fly out to Utah to help out.  But Alana was turning nine the next day and there was just no way I could make it happen.  So we scheduled to skype that night.
